RACE RULES

A reflective vest must be worn & rear red flashing light must be on at all times.

The racer must not veer from the race course. There is no road riding. Riding on the Glenn Highway will result in immediate disqualification.

Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting:
• All 150 & 100 mile racers must attend the pre-race meeting at our Anchorage home: Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at 7pm.

CHECK IN & GEAR CHECK for 50 Mile racers: Friday, December 9th, 2011 at 10:00 am.

CHECK IN & GEAR CHECK for 25 Mile Racers: Saturday, December 10th, 2011 at 10:30 am.

Litter/Used or Wet Gear:
• Racers will be disqualified for littering. Leave no trace.
• Racers who plan to use the Neos overboot with ice grippers on them, as a courtesy please do not wear them into the checkpoint lodge.

No Outside Help:
• Racers must be self sufficient and are only allowed to accept help from another racer or race official.
• Racers are not allowed to accept any help from a race official that advances that racer along the course.
• No use of motorized equipment may be used to facilitate a racer in any way.

Checkpoints for 150 &100:
• The official checkpoints are at Sheep Mountain Lodge and Eureka Lodge
• All racers must physically sign in/out of Eureka Lodge check point twice (for the 150 mile racers going out & coming back).
• Racers of the start & finish at Sheep Mountain Lodge
• Any racer who misses or skips an official checkpoint will be disqualified.

Checkpoints for 50 Mile Race:
• The official checkpoints are at Sheep Mountain Lodge and Eureka Lodge
• All racers must physically sign in at Eureka Lodge check point
• Any racer who misses or skips this official checkpoint will be disqualified.

Checkpoints for 25 Mile Race:
• The official checkpoints are at Sheep Mountain Lodge and Martin Road. Racers begin & end at Sheep Mountain Lodge.

Cut-Off Times for 150 & 100 Mile:

• Total time allowed for completion of the race is 60 hours (by midnight December 11, 2011).

Cut-Off Times for 50 Mile:
• Total time allowed for completion of the race is 24 hours (by noon December 10th, 2011).

Cut-Off Times for 25 Mile:
• Total time allowed for completion of the race is 12 hours (by midnight December 11th, 2011).

All racers must adhere to the cutoff time for the race.

A fee of $200 will be charged to the racer in the event of an evacuation. Any racer who is unable to complete the race will be disqualified. If a racer is able and willing to return to the start under his or her own power, or with the assistance of an external source, he or she may do so.

You may NOT ride on the Glenn Highway, you may only return on the race course.

All racers MUST inform a race official if they intend to scratch and return to the race start.

ALL racers are ultimately the responsibility of the race staff and MUST be accounted for at all times. In order to accomplish this, a disqualified racer may require an evacuation or snow machine escort back to the road system.

Any racer who fails to comply with the rules will be disqualified from the Sheep Mountain Bike Race. Absolutely no refunds will be given to a racer who is disqualified.
